HELP SAVE SPLASHTIME

Splashtime Swim Academy and Swim club have been operating in Cumbernauld for the last 5 years. Eighteen months ago, three council representatives from the Time Capsule Monklands Trust visited one of our pools for 5 minutes and based on this have cancelled our pool lets without any explanation or constructive criticism.

As of 1st August 2010, 800 of our swimmers will need to find an alternative service provider of swimming lessons within the area. The council currently are unable to manage their own waiting times, children facing up to a 2 years before being offered a place, they would undoubtedly be unable to cope with a further 800 swimmers entering the market.

The purpose of this petition is to ask the council to reconsider their initial reactionary response and reinstate our pool time with immediate effect ,offering a proper consultation period thereby allowing Splashtime Swim Academy to continue to provide the service they have prided themselves on for a number of years.

Splashtime Swim Academy is affiliated to Scottish Swimming the national governing body for swimming in Scotland. Our staff attend CPD training days and are working towards being licensed through the governing body, showing they have attained a recognised teaching standard, this is far beyond what Time Capsule Monklands Trust can currently offer.
